Welcome to Vandenbroek farms.

We are a family run farm on the West Coast of Eyre Peninsula in South Australia, where we believe in growing 100% grass fed and finished premium beef and lamb.

We run a herd of Murray Grey beef cattle for their lovely calm temperaments, easy calving ability, and excellent mothering skills. 
They are an easy care, versatile breed of cattle, able to thrive in any environment and finish well on grass and pasture.
Murray Grey beef is known for for its marbling, tenderness, flavour and consistent quality.

Over the last few years we have changed from merinos to Ultra White shedding sheep for prime lamb.
As these sheep shed their fleece, they don’t grow a nice soft fleece like merinos.
This means they put all their energy into growing nice healthy lambs!
They are excellent mothers and the meat is delicious, with low melt point fat that is perfect for producing tender, juicy meat.

Our stock have access to large paddocks with ample areas of natural scrub, where they graze pastures and native grasses, and stubble paddocks after we harvest our grain crops.
We do feed the occaisional bale of medic hay in the dry seasons.

We don’t believe in using growth hormones, feed additives or chemicals.

Our animals are handled calmly and quietly, and only when necessary, without undue stress or pressure, but are checked on a regular basis.
